Overview

Jose Lacámara is a clinical psychologist, the author of five books published by Planeta, and one of Chile’s most widely read voices on self-compassion, parenting, and adolescence. Her website was built on WordPress with Elementor: it was clunky, with 15-pixel-wide body text and several book pages still displaying *Lorem ipsum* in the draft stage. None of her social media accounts were linked to the site. The project came with an unusual condition: there was no access to WordPress or the CDN dashboard. All the content from six years of work—61 columns with their featured images—had to be retrieved from the outside, without touching the source, and without losing a single piece. A static site on Astro that stays true to the brand identity—the hand-drawn logo, the terracotta and sage color palette, and the signature typography—but modernizes the layout and scales the body text to a fluid size ranging from 17 to 18.4 pixels. It reads effortlessly, which was precisely the point for a site that relies on Jose’s writing. The 61 columns were migrated to Markdown content collections, with their category, featured image, and original date intact. The five book entries were rewritten to include the actual synopsis for each book and its reviews. The team page lists the ten psychologists at the practice, along with their areas of expertise and a direct link to their schedules. The form runs on a Cloudflare Worker that performs server-side validation using Turnstile and submits data via Brevo, with a honeypot, a minimum completion time, and mandatory consent in accordance with Law 21,719. The entire site is served statically from Sevalla, featuring a three-button cookie banner, a sitemap, structured person data, and carefully managed social sharing.
